Review of The Florida Project (2017) by Lenin S — 05 Aug 2018
What I truly love about his picture is not the simply the performances and narrative, but how the film was constructed and executed. Similarly to the likes of the original Little Rascals, we are shoved into the reality of children existing in harsh regions and malevolent time periods.
Quite frankly, the framework and more anthology like perspective is plain genius. From the first ten minutes to its metaphorical finale, I became invested with these children and even the flawed but compassionate adults.
As I thought with Jordan Peele's Get Out, I believe the sheer creativity and structure of this picture with ultimately become an example for future film makers.
