Review of The Book of Henry (2017) by Noah D — 23 Jun 2017
This is one of the best movies I have seen, critics be damned. Henry is brilliant and he has a plan. He keeps meticulous notes with drawings and graphics all the while managing the family's extensive investments to the point that his mom doesn't need to work because the family can live off the interest.
Did I mention he is 11? This movie portrays deeply held secrets, a family's love, death, grief and joy. I think the ending was expected and not as some critics describe as maudlin. He is smart and cool, and he understands adult problems better than the adults.
