Review of T2 Trainspotting (2017) by Sarah L — 08 Jul 2017
I read numerous reviews of this dismissing it as a film that panders to fans of the first Trainspotting and is hardly watchable as a stand alone feature. The two movies work in a beautiful sycnronous tandem forcing a revisting not only of the characters' pasts, but by weaving nostalgia and celluloid so beautifully into the film's visual motif, the audiendce is constantly remonded of their own relationship to the fim and themselves and the past.
I loved this film without really being able to say why, I was moved to tears many times, I was as thrilledto see these guys again as if they were my own youthful companions, and I wept at the wasted years, for them , for me.
