Review of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) by Tim C — 26 Jan 2010
Even though this film is my favorite of the Vengeance Trilogy, it's also the most difficult to watch. A story where almost no one is a bad person or has unpure motives, but a few bad choices ripple tragedy for all involved.
It's much more subdued than the other two, but I think it still has more beautiful cinematography and story-telling than those that followed. Tragic and gorgeous, it's Park Chan-wook at his very best.
