Review of Stella Dallas (1937) by Ian F — 09 Oct 2008
I really enjoyed this! Mainly the main character Stella- played brilliantly by Barbara Stanwyck (who rightfuly earned an Oscar nomination for this, and although I haven't seen the other nominees, or even heard of them, she should have won- it was the "I am not getting a divorce and you tell my husband to just keep signing the cheques!!!" scene that got me).
She was great! Most of it was, the sets, the costumes, the music, the story, the other actors (including the daughter who also received an Oscar nod). All in all a well done piece!
