Review of Stella Dallas (1937) by Elizabeth N — 26 Mar 2008
Barbara Stanwyck outshines everyone else in this film, really drawing on Stella's annoyingand manipulative nature, and yet leaving the audience torn between hate and pity for her, as she is also quite naive and innocent.
The ending was so beautifully bittersweet it almost made me cry. Definatly a film worth watching.
