Fans of Shane Meadows may expect more incidents, but for me the strongest element in all his previous films ahve been the characterisations and performances of his actors. Thomas Turgoose is so good here,a s he was in THIS IS ENGLAND. SOMERS TOWN is funny, slight, and memorable.
Enjoyable and up there with Meadows best. Some may see it as a step back down for Meadows from THIS IS ENGLAND and DEAD MAN'S SHOES and is cooling his heels.
It's good to see him doing a small character piece though.
Looking forward to what he's got lined up next.
