Review of Somebody Up There Likes Me (2013) by Ricardo O — 10 Sep 2010
Somebody Up There Likes Me is an exhilarating and thoroughly entertaining biopic of the legendary middleweight boxer Rock Graziano played by Paul Newman in his first starring role that jump started his whole career and directed by the great Robert Wise [The Day the Earth Stood Still; West Side Story; The Sound Of Music].
One of the best sports biopics made that isn't quite great but is a movie that I fully recommend watching. Interesting thing to note is that James Dean was originally going to play the role but with his untimely death Paul Newman then took over to play the man.
8/10.
