Review of Shanghai (2012) by Saurav P — 08 Jun 2012
This movie paints a horrifying picture of corruption at some of the very high ranks in the Indian political system. Whether building a second Shanghai or Dubai by displacing poor people or forcing them to relocate 50 miles away from their home is progress or not - that is debatable, and probably depends on how you do it.
That's where this movie is set - and it gives you a sense of why, even when these politicians aim for something that *may be* good for the country, the *embedded way* of going about things in Indian politics is.
.. frustrating, to say the least.
