Phenomenal film about a good hearted cop trying to go straight while everyone else around him is crooked. Al Pacino's performance is a tour de force, as is Sidney Lumet's direction, capturing the perfect amount of tension when it seems the most logical. Not a false note in characterization or dialogue.
