Review of Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979) by Eric T — 16 Dec 2007
How can you not like this movie? It's The Ramones for God's sake! The Ramones, people! To have punk rock in theatres across North America in 1979 was astounding! This was a time when you could get beat up for wearing a Ramones t-shirt. And then there's P.J. Soles as Riff Randall. Every teenage boy worth his leather jacket was in love with her in high school. Sure she was 30 years old at the time. Sure the Ramones can't act. Sure much of the script sucks. Sure the cast is full of misfits and unknowns.
Who cares? It just adds to the fun. If you can't have fun with this movie, then, buddy, you just ain't no fun.
