This is an amazing film that 75% of the audience will hate. Love power rangers? You’ll hate this film because it’s not the Rangers you know or the style you are acustomed to. Hate power rangers? You will hate this film because everything that makes you hate it is present and accounted for.
But for those in the middle, this is an INCREDIBLY earnest love letter to the concepts behind the Power Rangers series. Do you groan at emotions and the power of friendship? You’ll hate this film. But if that stuff resonates with you, you will be as deeply sucked into this film as I was.
Friendship, loyalty, leadership and selflessness are on full display with no winking or apologizing like other superb films feel they need to. This is a new classic in the same vein as the 80s TMNT film.
