Classic Herzog -- a modern, avant garde adaptation of the F.W. Murnau classic, so morbid, it's virtually satirical. Genuinely spooky scenes throughout, but Klaus Kinski, in all of his rat-faced glory, manages to lend a sense of oddity, both eerie and entertaining.
