Review of Mulberry Street (2006) by John C — 24 Dec 2009
Such a simple plot but the film is actually very very well made and powerful, in my opinion. The way the movie was filmed completely complimented the chaos going in the city and made you feel like you are right in the whole mess.
The characters are very strong and well acted. It truly felt like a horror movie, inspired from Night of the Living Dead. It reflects our current society's fear of disease and that our government won't protect us when we really need it to.
It's so murky and dirty you might feel the need to shower after, haha. I love the scene when all the rat people are outside the front door to the apartment building frantically trying to get in with the green lighting and fog.
It was very Night of the Living Dead. This is a great alternative to a typical zombie film.
