Review of Kundun (1997) by Barbara T — 17 Mar 2008
A beautifully photgraphed film & rightfully sympathetic to the Tibetan cause. Another vastly underrated Scorsese film on the life of HH Dalai Lama. Historically correct & visually stunning, it graphically shows the tragedy of the Tibetan situation which continues today, particularly in light of the week's recent events. Incredibly sad to see the attempted destruction of a culture & the actual genocide of a peaceful people by a regime the rest of the world wants to trade cheaply with & who overlooks all it's gross human rights abuses. And this is the regime who will host the Olympic Games!!!
Boycott Chinese goods. Long live HH Dalai & Panchen Lamas.
Lo Gyalo!
