Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Amanda K — 10 Jun 2008
Potentially one of the best films I have ever seen. They cinematography is gorgeous, as is EVERYTHING about this movie, even the way the camera moves is oddly entrancing, especially when Mr. Chow and Su Li-zhen are attempting to "understand how their spouses affair began".
The choice to never show the cheating spouses was also a stroke of genius. Maggie Cheung is impossible to take your eyes off of, and Tony Leung particularly in the final scenes was incredible. The longing is palpable.
.. god I love this film.
