Review of I Melt with You (2011) by Rane M — 09 May 2012
It seems that people see this movie and grow an opinion on it by relating to their adopted ideas of modern film. However, I believe that I Melt With You is a film that is trying something different (very different), going a way opposite than following textbook formulas for conflict/ dealing with clichà (C) subjects.
And it manages to pull it off in the midst of chaos, self-destruction, and relevant lessons on life (as negative as they are presented) that are relevant to everyone. Don't watch this film as if it were a box office recommended 5 stars piece, but watch it as a heavy, emotional story of four men living their lives trying to get back to their youth.
