Review of Hope and Glory (1987) by Ville I — 20 Jun 2009
Boorman's autobiographical (?) tale of living under the London blitz is a funny and moving take on how a kid and his family see the war. Good actors pull off the read-between-the-lines emotions and the story meanders along nicely without having to have "Oct 14, 1942"-style subtitles at the bottom of the screen.
Not Boorman's best, but an interesting one for sure.
