Review of Ghoulies (1985) by Paul C — 07 Jul 2008
Boring for most of it's length, alleviated slightly by a "what-the-fuck?" new wave dance number and a character who's clearly supposed to be the "hilarious" comedy sidekick (he even has sunglasses with motorised windscreen wipers on them!!), the movie comes alive humourously during it's final act with the (presumably) titular puppets running amok alongside walking skeletons, midgets, a guy with glowing green eyes and our new wave cast.
Ghoulies 2 and 3 featured only the puppets, while Ghoulies 4 featured the hero of this movie and the midgets again. Who's the ghoulies, the midgets or the puppets?
