Review of Ghoulies (1985) by Dewey F — 01 Apr 2012
This is about a man who inherits a mansion which belonged to someone who practiced black majic. He starts studying the literature and learns how to conjure up these evil ghouls that are allowed to roam the grounds but can only be seen by him, but, during one of his rituals he accidentally conjures the grounds previous owner who returns to take back his house, his ghouls, and all the power his inheritant has created.
Not sure how people say this is a Gremlins "rip-off". Not much in the way of moral stories or a hero like in Gremlins...there is a warlock at one point tho. I give this one 4/5 stars because there are certain movies from my childhood that I can still remember horrifyingly vivid, this and Puppet Master are among the top ones.
