Review of Funny Games (1997) by Hunter D — 17 Jun 2008
I prefered this movie to the original, simply because I thought the story was more effective without famous people. Other than the difference in actors and language, this original German version and the American remake are identical, right down to the locations.
This is a polarizing film, in that you will see it as either an intersting running commentary on violence in cinema, or just a borefest that denies you of what you want (i.e. graphic violence, lots of cuts, etc.
). If it's the latter, good, you deserve it.
