Review of Freaks (1932) by Justin H — 02 Jul 2009
I love this movie. The concept of exploring just how twisted and depraved human relationships can be, and contrasting it with the idea that the most -physically- twisted among us can be the most humane is brilliant.
The real freaks on display here are not the people who, through sheer chance of birth look different than the rest of us, but rather the "normal" people who manipulate the emotions, and prey on the good will of others.
"Freaks" is a truly timeless classic that no one should miss.
