Review of Elmer Gantry (1960) by Yeng H — 27 Jun 2006
Probably the most even-headed portrayal of religion you'll ever find. A film both entertaining and thought-provoking, both full of faith and the unfaithful. Quite a strange film really. Burt Lancaster does a great job, both reassuring and unsettling at the same time.
A film of contradictions that leaves the thinking up to you.
