Powerful film, with outstanding performances by Oscar winner Burt Lancaster and should have been nominated Jean Simmons. Shirley Jones won an Oscar for her role playing a prostitute (against type role) and is fine but not Oscar worthy, she faired better in Oklahoma! The Music Man and Carousel.
But very power message about Religion and the politics that dwells within!
