Review of Eating Raoul (1982) by Bubba B — 28 Apr 2010
It's a rare occasion that I find a comedy which fits my movie style. This offbeat independent gem from the early 80s is one of those which fits the bill. Paul and Mary are a prudish couple desperate to make money.
They lure swingers into their apartment and kill them for their money, selling their corpses to Raoul who has them ground up at the local dog-food plant. Ultimately, Raoul falls for Mary, and things begin to get complicated.
This film is WAY over-the-top in almost all aspects, but that's what gives it its charm. A very well done (in more ways than one) dark comedy. :).
