In that thing I wrote about exiled I stupidly mention the style of johnnie to's own brand of action, but that was just after seeing one single movie of his. apparently he's talented enough to switch up all sorts of different styles to suit whatever genre he's attempting to tackle.
in drug war, it's a heat-esque police-and-thieves, cat-and-mouse action flick that's unusually nuanced and every bit as thrilling as the best of the crop. really impressive.
