Review of Detachment (2011) by Lori J — 28 Feb 2012
This movie just blew me away. I saw the great rating on imdb and had a quick look at the plot summary. It seemed like another 'dangerous minds'/'freedom writers'-kind-of story (or maybe 'class') to me but because I enjoyed them I decided to watch 'detachment'.
At start, it seemed like I was right but I quickly realized that it's not. And it's not really about the education system either. It's Tony Kaye. I have yet to collect my thoughts to write something even remotely sound so I am going to add some further comments later.
For now, I just feel a real urge to to let people know that is easily one of the best movies of 2011 (or 2012) and that it should be seen by a wider audience. I am speechless.
