Review of Charlie's Country (2013) by Gavin P — 21 Nov 2014
A pretty good look at what it means to be an elder Aboriginal in modern Australia. A bit slow in parts, but ti's always great to see Gulpilil "go bush" and it always makes me wonder how I'd fare on my own in the middle of nowhere.
.. Some harsh realities when he gets to Darwin, with his transformation shocking, both visually and intellectually. A semi-uplifting ending helps, but there's something missing from the film to make it truly great.
