Review of Boarding Gate (2007) by Dave G — 07 Jul 2008
French director Oliver Assayas brings us yet another one of his muddled Euro-trashy erotic corporate thrillers. The only point of his films seems to be watching a sexy insanely-stylish woman scheme, drink liquor straight and run around with a mission.
This one's no different and makes even less sense than his other films. The performances are all stiff with laughable line readings. All that said, there's something really addictive about his films.
All the stylishness gives you a contact high. And you have to credit Argento, who smolders and is really fun to watch run around with a gun, even if you have no clue what she's doing you just want to see what she does next.
