Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Valentina D — 18 Nov 2007
There's something about this movie that is haunting in a way. It's a great film that is based on an intriguing plot but where the plot is more of a palette than the story itself. Kind of brillant really.
It's interesting that the main character is an arist because the entire movie is shot as if it were individual disjunct works housed in the same gallery. If you're not used to this type of film beware - there are a lot of loose ends never flushed out - but that's the point.
It's a movie about disaffected (but not jaded) youth. People who fly from moment to moment and shift from emotion to emotion in nano-seconds. It's great.
