Review of Beyond the Gates (2016) by The N — 09 Jan 2017
Pudgy, American David Tennant leads a rush-release in the shadow of Stranger Things and IT Follows. A tad too serious as a mocky-homage and a touch too goofy to be serious. Odd dialog and lingering takes makes for a generally uncomfortable watch.
I mean, that's the standard review but I overall enjoyed the watch. Also, the magic ship owner, mix of Jared from Silicon Valley and Richmond from IT Crowd, stole the scenes he was in.
