Review of Best Laid Plans (2012) by Elgan D — 03 Jul 2015
A gritty contemporary reenvisioning of Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men' which fails because Graham's version of the George character is fairly despicable. Steinbeck's story works because it is a story of friendship through difficult circumstances, but here the difficulties are largely self inflicted and the relationship is one of usage.
At times also the tone of the picture moves away from sympathetic to almost contempt.
