Review of Are You Scared (2006) by Christopher B — 03 Feb 2007
A STV knock-off of the Saw films (which I'm not a big fan of anyway). I have no problem with low budget rip offs, without them there wouldn't be some of my favourite drive-in films; Grizzly, Piranha, Zombie, the list goes on, but Are You Scared seemed like the writer saw Saw and decided to make it crappier.
It had some decent moments, and since it probably was made just as pure exploitation and intended as STV fare, when measured up against a lot of other STV titles (Dark Harvest, Midnight Mass, Scarecrow) it is actually much better.
But at the end of the day, despite a guy getting his head chopped in half and a girl having her hands tied with her own intestines the film is definitely not recommended.
