Mike Leigh's "Another Year" is a graceful drama with comedic moments that serves as an observation of a happily married couple and the people they know over the course of a year. The characters are all real people with real motivations and real dialogue, and the beauty of the film rests within the simple drama of everyday life and occasional laugh when we view it as an outsider.
Mike Leigh has this way with scripting and directing, and "Another Year" is another of his perfect observations of humanity.
