Review of Absentia (2011) by John P — 30 Apr 2012
Billed as a "horror" film, Absentia is more of a Thriller of sorts. The meandering storyline deals with missing persons, extreme emotional wear, stress and anxiety, "black holes" in time and space and spiritual phenomena.
The film itself is not exactly creepy or even terrifying as the box art will lead you to believe, as much as it is interesting and thought-provoking. For those looking for something a bit off-kilter or off-beat from what they're used to watching, Absentia might just be their bag.
