Review of A Raisin in the Sun (2008) by Rakeem M — 04 Jan 2010
A solid adaptation anchored by the fierce performance of Phylicia Rashad. Audra McDonald and Sanaa Lathan offer some fine work as well, and Diddy is serviceable, but the movie would have been better with a more capable actor in the lead.
All-in-all, it's nowhere near as great as the original film adaptation, but it should be seen for Ms. Rashad's portrayal of the matriarch alone.
