Review of 13 Assassins (2010) by Daniel D — 16 Aug 2011
"13 Assassins" is amazingly well-designed and is effective at immersing you into a period where the samurai were falling apart. The film is also devilishly clever, going so far as to imply that one of the characters may be a mythological being relevant to Japanese mythology.
The last thirty minutes of the film consists of one of the most brutal and emotionally draining war scenes you'll ever lay eyes on.
