Review of Zulu Dawn (1979) by Peter M — 24 Aug 2014
Considering how impossible it is to convey the magnitude of the incompetence, arrogance and foolishness of the British leadership in the region at the time, the film portrays the situation well and examines the chaos of the battle itself.
No, it isn't perfect but Zulu wasn't either. The tension, fear, panic and bravery of both sides are well portrayed and insofar as characterisation, it is a better film than the original. Well worth a watch and better than many may say.
