Review of Zulu (1964) by Owen G — 19 Sep 2007
'You're all going to die!' It may not be PC to feel pride when watching British soldiers slaughter African natives armed with spears but Zulu portrays both sides noblely. Caine gives one of his best performances as the upper-class officer who proves his metel for the first time and Baker holds the whole thing together as the man who rises to the occasion.
An excellant support cast, moments of humour and of course the majestic setting make this a masterpiece.
