"The bastards. They're taunting us!" This is the great film of Great British grit and tenacity in face of overwhelming odds, etc. It's the Imperial and colonial thing, and holds a special place in my affections because I have been to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift myself.
Few movies have so much of Africa about them, and in this case I suspect without really realising it.
