Review of Zulu (1964) by Jordan R — 02 Mar 2008
Based on the true-life story of the Battle of Rorke's Drift, one of the most successful defenses in military history. The odds really were about as long as depicted in the film, and despite the romanticizing of historical details, it still manages to be an entertaining show. Historically relevant, if for no other reason than to see none than Michael Caine make his big debut.
High points (in particular and in my opinion): The soundtrack, and the defense of the final redoubt - watching the continual yells of "Fire!" and the thunder of the rifles ought to appeal to any red-blooded male.
