Review of Zulu (1964) by Patrick R — 12 Dec 2008
More than 40 years after it was released, this epic still stands up. It's hurt slightly by virtually bloodless battle scenes. It came just before the blood and gore of Sam Pekinpah films. But it's got sweep, and you can't take your eyes off the screen.
It also seems a lot more racially sensitive in its depiction of the Zulus than expected for a movie of that era.
