Review of Zulu (1964) by Mickey F — 30 Mar 2009
The best way to see Enfleid's spectacle is to precede it with the 1978 prequel ZULU DAWN, both of which tell of heroic battles. A great telling of the making of this film is the book "ZULU: With Some Guts Behind It", and is recommended for any fan of this film.
This film is best remembered for being Caine's breakthrough role, but Nigel Green steals the show as the color sergeant with a backbone of steel. The "Men of Harlech" scene is one for the books.
