Review of Zulu (1964) by Jason C — 24 Nov 2009
I loved that the focus of beauty in this film was on the African rituals, mostly battle rituals but also a mass wedding. It was interesting that a film that is suppose to be about the "brave Brits who stood strong against superior numbers" spent at least as much time on the battle songs of the Zulu (which are amazing).
Interesting too, that it is only when the Brits appropriate that ritual that we really start to root for them.
