Review of Zulu (1964) by Gary R — 11 Nov 2007
Just bought the DVD - £7.50 from Sainsbury. An excellent film about a propaganda myth that captures the essence of fighting for the British empire. Non-judgemental on either side - celebrates the heroism of the Zulus as well as the 2nd Battalion, 24th Foot caught at Rorke's Drift.
A stellar cast - Stanley Baxter, Michael Caine, Jack Hawkins and James Booth. And of course the South African landscape ... and the music ... 'Sounds like a train'.
