Review of Zorns Lemma (1970) by Nik M — 29 Sep 2013
A true avant-garde film that is hard to watch for the untrained eye. The film is expressively edited, featuring numerous implications and nods to factors of filmmaking - time, technicalities, philosophies - to create a profound experience divided in three sections.
The contrast of visuals paired with the narration in both the first and last sequences creates an out-of-body consideration, mixed in with the realist symbolism of the long second sequence.
