Review of Zootopia (2016) by Simon T — 04 Feb 2017
There is so much love, wit and technical brilliance lavished on this Disney feature that it's a shame they didn't chop out twenty minutes. A wonderful hybrid of film noir, jaw-dropping animation, very funny dialogue and thinly-disguised commentary (on racism, bureaucracy, etc) it has so many subtle and glancing gags that it demands repeat viewings.
Much of it will go over the heads of very young children, but there's enough visually to keep them engaged and amused.
