Review of Zoolander (2001) by Anthony B — 09 Feb 2012
A hilarious spoof of the fashion industry, starring Ben Stiller in probably the greatest comedic performance of his career. With a movie like this, it would be so easy to get lazy and go for the standard jokes about gays, sex and drugs.
But, with a few brief exceptions, this movie keeps the humor tasteful and intelligent. When they do throw in sex jokes, they're usually surprisingly funny simply because they aren't overused. At a time when "The Hangover" is considered great comedy, going back to this movie is a breath of fresh air.
