Review of Zoolander (2001) by Abraham S — 09 Nov 2013
A potentially good movie squandered by some horrific direction and a very poor plot. In spite of that, Stiller's Zoolander was hilariously dimwitted. Wilson's Hansel was brilliant and funny - he fit for the role surprisingly well, believable as both a super-model and an idiotically misguided spiritualist.
Will Ferrel, however, had the juiciest and most hilarious role - a blessing of the script and casting and not a testament to the comedian himself. I am a die-hard Milla Jovovich fan and I would have really liked to see her better utilized but her bit part was frustrating fleeting.
Christine Taylor, as pretty as ever, played her role. And that was about all she did. Ultimately, I would watch Zoolander again but I wouldn't go out of my way to share it with anyone because there isn't much of value here to be passed around.
