Review of Zookeeper (2011) by Anthony T — 03 May 2012
Why does Hollywood keep giving Kevin James starring roles? Donâ(TM)t get me wrong I do like him and he was good in King of Queens but after Paul Blart and The Dilemma maybe itâ(TM)s time to stick to supporting roles.
He clearly knows that he is in a bad film so he hams it up at every opportunity. The biggest problem with this movie isnâ(TM)t the talking animals (though they arenâ(TM)t funny) itâ(TM)s the love triangle.
Whoever thought that Kevin James could be trying to decide between Leslie Bibb or Rosario Dawson is a madman. Youâ(TM)ll spend more time wondering why these woman even give him the time of day than actually caring who he ends up with.
Any time the movie appears to be moving towards a genuine moment James makes a funny face and falls on his ass, literally. This movie tries to be both a kids movie and a romance and ends up being neither.
